Emergency Preparedness

As part of the LWDC’s ownership and protection of water rights, water resources, water system infrastructure, and Lakeshore Road water access points that provide water for firefighting needs, it has a necessary interest in the prevention and reduction of the probability of fires. This page will offer planning and prevention information and external fire-related links, all aimed at the prevention and reduction of fire risks that could affect the LWDC and its members.

Wildfire Preparedness

Ready is a National public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters. 

Individual Preparedness

Oregon Wildfire Response & Recovery provides necessary tools to stay safe, stay informed and stay connected. Access resources before, during and after wildfires.

Current Fire Status

The Fire, Weather & Avalanche Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing wildfire maps, weather forecasts, and avalanche information, with an emphasis on the backcountry.

Emergency Services

Wallowa County Department of Emergency Services is to assist in maintaining community well-being through disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery activities.
